NYLC Breakout Session

Being an effective junior high pastor has nothing to do with being cool, or a special look. If you don't have the burden of the Lord for junior highers, everything's going to be a struggle. The insanity of a junior higher and the ebb and flow of puberty will drive you insane. Experts have learned that that the human mind is still developing during these years. Junior highers don't know what's going on any more than you know what's going on with them. If you can realize that and you can help your leaders and parents realize that, all of a sudden, junior high ministry doesn't become something to be endured, but something to be blessed.

Judy Gregory, Director of Operations for Youth Leader's Coach, spent ten years as the Middle School Pastor of Granger Community Church. In this session, "Middle School Ministry...Holding On For Dear Life!" she shares the strategies, programming and leadership lessons she learned as she watched her youth ministry grow from 35 to over 500.
