Sadly, Joe Paterno's legacy of being the most winning college football coach ever over his 46 year run at Penn State will forever be tarnished by his firing over the knowledge of a trusted assistant's unrepented sin. Whether it was fair for Penn State to fire Paterno a few games shy of his retirement is not the most important question for us to grapple with. The more important question is, "What can we learn from this tragedy?"

We are foolish if we only pause to learn lessons resulting from our own fatal mistakes. Grab a cup of coffee and let's see what wisdom can be gained from this classic example of the Enemy cashing in on unrepented sin at the moment that does him the most good.
